Ring Sizer - How To Find The Perfect Fit

How many times have you purchased a ring and had to return it because you don’t know your size? Or are you afraid to purchase a ring as a gift, because you don’t know their ring size?

We get it; it feels like a near impossible task. But don’t worry, with a few simple tricks you’ll never have this problem again.

First things first: it's important to understand that ring sizes can vary from country to country and even from brand to brand. In North America, ring sizes are measured in whole and half sizes using a numerical scale. As Every Heart is a Canadian brand, we use whole sizes from (size 4 to size 11). In other countries, such as the United Kingdom, ring sizes are measured using a letter scale, with sizes ranging from A to Z. If you're purchasing a ring for someone who lives in a different country, make sure to pay attention to the sizing scale that is being used.

Finding the Perfect Ring fit for You

The easiest way to do this is to measure your finger using a ring sizer. We offer free ring sizers - click here and we’ll mail you one.

But if you don’t want to wait for the ring sizer to arrive, you can print one out or you can make your own.

Before you measure, here are a few tips & tricks to ensure that you get that perfect fit:

  • Measure your fingers at the end of the day when they’re at their largest.
  • Weather can impact the fit of the ring; for example cold weather can shrink your fingers up to half a size, while the humidity can increase your fingers.
  • Lastly, alcohol and salt can make your fingers swell, so refrain from measuring them after cocktails and appetizers.

If you have a printer,  follow the steps below:

    1. Print the ring sizer PDF (here) on standard 8.5" x 11" paper at 100% scale (ensure scaling is turned off).
    2. Measure the grey section, it should be 3.5 inches from end to end.
    3. Cut out the sizing tool (the top section that looks like a ruler), and wrap the piece of paper around your desired finger. The number that aligns closest with the 'Read Size Here' line will be your size.
    4. If you are in between sizes it's best to go up rather than down.

If you do not have a printer,  follow the steps below:

    1. Cut a thin strip of paper 10-12cm long.
    2. Wrap the strip of paper tightly around your desired finger.
    3. Using a pen or pencil, mark the point where the paper overlaps itself.
    4. Lay the strip of paper on a flat surface and use a ruler to measure the distance from the end of the strip to the marking you made in millimetres. This will give you the circumference of your finger.
    5. Using the chart below, convert your measurement into standard US/Canada  sizing.

TIP:  If you are in between sizes, it's always best to round up rather than down.
